Open Day 2016 - What Comes Next?

So, the dust has settled and the Open Day is over. One minute it was coming, the next it was gone! Somewhere in the middle was a Day that was, we're told, pretty good.

But this blog's not about gloating - though if you didn't or couldn't make it take a look at the video and see what you missed – it's about what we're going to do with all the workshops.

This year's Open Day set a new bar for Adviser Presentations – more than ever before. And we want to make sure everyone gets to benefit from that.

Eleven

We didn't set out to have a dozen presenters along - just those we thought best for you. Whether you're a retailer, etailer, consultant, repairer, builder, B2B, B2C, whatever, our intent was to offer everyone something valuable.

So we approached and involved experts across all sorts of areas. Advisers in pay-per-click (Google), online marketplaces (Amazon), bidding for contract work (Bid Perfect) and continuous improvement (Productivity Leaders) to name a few. So what's the plan?

Well it may sound obvious but we're going to blog about it. Not just the ShopTalk stuff, we're going to blog about all the Adviser sessions.

Don't wait for what we're going to say - we're not just repeating their stuff. Get over to the post event website now: watch the videos and download the presentations. Then come back as read what we've got to say over the coming weeks. So you get even more value from the advice on offer.

Complementary advice

Many presenters allowed their sessions to be videoed and their materials available for download. Armed with these you've everything you need to understand what they said. If you don't drop us a line and ask – we're more than happy to help. Just email shoptalk@targetcomponents.co.uk.

Now, it doesn't make sense for us to merely ‘replay' what they said. But it does to add to it and make it better. So that will be the focus of the relevant blog when the time comes. Complementary comment that builds, expands and details more on what they said.

Supplementary advice

Some presenters declined being videoed but made their materials available for download. While here's much to be gleaned from their materials they may be ‘harder' to understand. You haven't the advantage of watching/listening to the video. In these cases it's important you ask about anything that doesn't make sense; you don't understand or occurs to you when thinking about the content.
